“Gotta make sure all those multi-million-dollar teams make the playoffs,” NASCAR Twitter reacts to Jeremy Clements losing a playoff spot
Jeremy Clements
Jeremy Clements made history last weekend at Daytona as he survived the chaotic race to secure the first win in his family-owned Clements Racing No:51 Chevy Camaro to the victory lane for the first time. The impressive win by the small team against the big players of the Xfinity series was adored by many on and off the track as his win represented what NASCAR has built itself upon.
The victory assured the youngster an automatic qualification to the 12-man Xfinity playoff, but to the disappointment of everyone, NASCAR has stripped him of the playoff entry after his car failed the post-race inspection in the NASCAR R&D center, though the organization has decided to credit him the win. The youngster won’t be getting any financial benefits from his success.
He was sanctioned with stripping the playoff spot, which put him in a situation where he had to win at least one of the coming three regular-season races to get into the playoff. The youngster has a very slim chance to get there as there isn’t any other track where the small team can take a gamble as they did last Friday in Daytona as they have fewer odds for the small team to win.

How NASCAR Twitter reacted to the disappointing news
Just like the Clements Racing teams, most of the fans were disappointed by the announcement, while some supported NASCAR’s decision. At the same time, there were also fans calling out NASCAR for its hypocrisy. Denny Hamlin was stripped of his win earlier this season after failing inspection, which NASCAR didn’t apply to the Xfinity driver.
