Tricon Garage’s Hailie Deegan has announced her engagement with long-time boyfriend Chase Cabre. The latter proposed Deegan at San Luis Obispo, California. She said yes and announced the happy news via her Instagram account. Deegan posted a picture of them together at the beach, with Cabre on the knees preposing.
She captioned the post, expressing her love for the former NASCAR driver and rival, “I love you, Chase Cabre.” The couple has been dating since the summer of 2020, after the first full-time season of Deegan in the Truck Series. Like Deegan, who comes from a racing family, her future husband is from a racing family.
Cabre, who is now 26 years old, four years older than Deegan, has previously raced in the ARCA Mendes Series East between 2017 and 2020. He has secured two wins in the series, one more than Deegan. Cabre from 41 starts in the ARCA series, he secured 28 top-10 finishes, 15 of them were top-5s. His best-ever finish in the championship was the P2 from 2018 with Rev Racing.
Statistically, Cabre is a better driver than Deegan while considering their head-to-head battles. They have fought against each other in 16 races, and in 10 of those races, Cabre finished better. But Deegan’s ability to remain consistent and build a brand around herself helped her to secure full-time seats in the top tier of the sport.
Hailie Deegan signed the biggest NASCAR deal of her career recently
Deegan, who’s one of the most promising female racing prodigies in the garage, signed the deal to race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series full-time. She will race the No:15 Ford Mustang of AM Racing from 2024, ending her Truck Series career that lasted three full seasons.
It has been the deal she waited for a long time, as many in the NASCAR community believe that the Truc Series wasn’t the right step forward for her. She struggled to establish herself in the Truck series despite having some solid cars. But she proved herself against seasoned veterans in the SRX series and convinced the Xfinity teams Truck wasn’t the right option for her.
I am excited about the opportunity to compete full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, starting next year with AM Racing. From the start, the team has been nothing but great to work with, and the vision that Wade has for the team to accomplish aligns with my values perfectly.
Deegan said about the Xfinity deal.
