Richard Childress Racing and their No:8 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver Tyler Reddick had an amazing end to their long-awaited wait for a trip to the victory lane as the youngster secured the first win of his cup career after 92 cup starts. Tyler Reddick topped HMS driver Chase Elliott to win the Road America cup race last weekend, which also helped him to get into the championship playoff.

The two times Xfinity series champions win was a long-awaited one that got delayed every time due to his bad luck, all of which ended in Road America. To be frank the only good thing that came out from Road America was Reddick’s win as the Road Course failed to entertain fans beyond their expectation, which was obviously law, so far this season.

But the win by Reddick did make some happy faces around the NASCAR community among which one was NASCAR Hall of Famer and five times Cup Series Championship P2 finisher Mark Martin, who knows a thing or two about bad luck. Mark Martin in his latest episode of “Mark, Mamba and The Mayor” podcast expressed his thoughts on the youngster, alongside former racer turned analyst co-host Jeff Button.

Nark Martin acknowledged that he is a huge fan of Tyler Reddick. He went on to share his belief that he always found Tyler Reddick as the catalyst the RCR team desperately needed in their efforts to get back to the Championship[ contending team, which they were in the past, following his successive Xfinity championship win after making his move to the RCR Xfinity team.

I’m a huge fan of Tyler Reddick. It really felt like that when he went to RCR and managed to pull off another Xfinity championship and then moved him to Cup, that he could be sort of the catalyst to turn that organization back into championship-contending form,” Mark Martin said.

Mark Martin went on to say that though getting the team back on track is not an easy task he had the intuition that Reddick will be the one.  He added that it’s really cool to see Reddick getting the item back to the victory lane which means so much to him. He points out that this might be the beginning of another glorious year for RCR which he likes to see just like he witnessed the glorious past years of RCR since the time of Richard Childress getting in the race car.

That’s not easy to do, but I felt like he’s the key catalyst to that. And it’s really cool to see RCR back in Victory Lane. It means so much to me. I knew Richard when he was still driving. I’ve seen all that, them going through their glory years. Maybe this is the beginning of another glorious era for RCR,” Mark Martin added.

Mark Martin’s co-host Jeff Burton had similar high praise for Tyler Reddick. He suggested that Reddick is a future superstar who is going to get better in this sport, which he claims to be no exaggeration, as he is getting only better going forward. Jeff Burton pointed out that Tyler Reddick going to be a high-demand commodity in the future and it will be hard for Richard Childress to keep him with the team as he will be naming his own price in the future.

He is only going to get better. He is a future superstar, and I am not exaggerating. He is a future superstar in this sport, and it’s gonna be… he is going to be an extremely highly valuable commodity. He is going to name his price in the future because it will be hard for Richard to keep him because everybody is going to be going for him. And he is going to be an extremely valuable guy because of what he can do on the race track,” Jeff Burton said.
