Kurt Busch has announced his retirement from full time cup racing. Tyler Reddick will replace Busch in the No:45 ride Next-Season. His contract was purchased by 23X1 from RCR. Kurt Busch has taken this decision on the back of the concussion he suffered in Pocono qualifying crash. He was side-lined since then and is yet get back to his 100%.

Busch announced the decision via his suicidal media handles posting a long statement. He Tweeted, “ I know I’m not 100% in my ability to go out and race at the top level in the NASCAR Cup Series. These are the best of the best drivers and lately, I haven’t felt my best. As I continue to focus on my health and work towards being cleared, I will be stepping away from full-time NASCAR Cup Series competition in 2023,”.

Kurt Busch might only get back to racing Next-Season if his recovery pace remains the same. The veterans plan on getting back to full time racing after 2023 is uncertain. He has announced that he will remain as the mentor of Bubba Wallace and his new teammate for 2023 Tyler Reddick at 23X1 Racing.

Kurt Busch has one of the most illustrious cup careers as the 2004 cup champion has raced for most of the big names in the cup series. He has driven for Jack Roush, Roger Penske, Tony Stewart and Chip Ganassi before joining the Michael JordonDenny Hamlin team. He has secured 34 wins from his 776 cup starts and had already established himself as a Hall of Fame candidate.

Fans on Twitter was really disappointed by the veteran’s decision. The were quick to share the remorse for the decision. They offered their well wishes for his future endowers and thanked him for the moments he produced on the track over his two decades long cup career.

Fans asked the veteran to remain in the cup series as a driver or as a team official and guide the Next-Generation of drivers such as Wallace and Reddick. Even the haters of Kurt came out expressing their respect and gratitude for everything he has done in NASCAR.
