Frankie Muniz has proven to the NASCAR nation that he deserves the ARCA seat with consistent performance so far this season.
Frankie Muniz wanted to be a garbage man growing up
Frankie Muniz, known for playing Malcolm in the Fox sit-com Malcolm In The Middle, is slowly but surely establishing himself as a capable racer in NASCAR. Driving on the ARCA Mendes Series, Nunez has proven the doubters wrong with his impressive runs and has showcased that it’s never too late to pursue one’s dreams.
The former child superstar turned entrepreneur is starting his NASCAR career at an age many consider the twilight of a racer career. He might not have had the opportunity to race if not for his star value. His Hollywood background was a curse while being a blessing. Sponsors and teams found it hard to take his racing aspirations seriously.
But he took the chance, understanding that time was running out for him. The 37-year-old entered the series, and though he is yet to win a race, he earned the garage’s respect. Growing up, being a race car driver or an actor wasn’t his dream. Surprisingly he wanted to be a garbage man. But fate had an entirely different chapter written for him.
“I love my past. I love everything I’ve done…But I don’t remember ever saying I wanted to be an actor. I wanted to be a garbage man, honestly, and acting took over my life,” Nunez was quoted by The Mirror. He adds that Motorsports is the world he is “supposed to be” in.

How the 2023 season so far has treated Frankie Muniz?
Muniz has started five races for Rette Jones Racing’s No:30 Ford Mustang this season in the ARCA Menards Series. His debut came at the iconic Daytona International Speedway. He secured a p11 finish in a race; many expected him to crash out early.
His second outing was at Phoenix Raceway, where he secured a P6 finish, his highest-ever finish in NASCAR. The third race of the season at Talladega saw him securing a P9. In Kansas, he finished the day with a P8; at Charlotte, he secured his second 6 finish of the series.
Back-to-back top-10 finishes helped him become one of the most consistent drivers this year and boosted his confidence. Muniz has ruled out a return to Hollywood in the future, and he wishes to leave a mark on NASCAR before eventually returning from racing.
