‘I can’t wait to watch, and I can’t wait to hear the results for Jimmie,’ veteran Kurt Busch is ecstatic about NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson’s Indy 500 debut

As NASCAR hit the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the 14th round of Cup racing, as it hosts the Coco-Cola 600 nicknamed the ‘Crown Jewel of Cup Racing’ alluding to its unique 600-mile race, it will coincide with the state’s premier open-wheel racing extravaganza the Indy 500 part of the IndyCar series.
The 2022 season Indy 500 will also mark the debut of NASCAR legend and 7 times Cup series champion Jimmie Johnson in Brickyard. The former Hendrick Motorsports man will drive the No:48 Chip Ganassi Racing, Honda car at the track, and will be hoping to convert his oval experience into a win in his debut.
Several numbers of Cup Drivers have come forth acknowledging their appreciation and backing to the NASCAR legend alongside another veteran and legend of the sport Kurt Busch who drives the No:45 Toyota for 23X1 Racing. Kurt Busch who is having an amazing comeback season in 2022 has acknowledged that he and Johnson have been talking about the race as well as the senior Busch’s experience at the Indy 500 rooting for his win.

Kurt Busch acknowledged that he has been rooting for Jimmie Johnson with some Texts and some driver advice. He went on to add that he also tried to drag former driver and team owner Stewart’s experience to it as well trying to fuel Johnson the best way he can. He went on to say he is rooting for him and will be watching the race. He went on to point out that he usually watches the race until the halfway before he goes into his race day stuff but added that he will be watching the rest on VHS and is waiting forward to hearing from Jimmie.
“I’ve been rooting him on with some texts and some driver advice and trying to drag Tony Stewart’s experience as well into it with the double and just trying to fuel Jimmie the best way we can. And, of course, we’re rooting for him and I’ll be watching,” Kurt Busch said.
“I usually can watch until about halfway, and then my duties start for race day with fan events and meetings with our team. But it’s on the DVR, and I can’t wait to watch, and I can’t wait to hear the results for Jimmie,” Kurt Busch added.
Kurt Busch’s 23X1 teammate Bubba Wallace acknowledges that he finds Jimmie Johnson crazy as he is doing something big which he also enjoys so much. He went on to say Jimmie Johnson nowadays is like a little kid whose dream of living in a candy store got granted and added that he is cheering for Johnson.
“He’s a crazy you-know-what to be doing what he’s doing, and the biggest thing is he’s enjoying it and having fun. He seems like a kid in a candy store living out his lifelong dream to be able to do that. I’m cheering for him,” Bubba Wallace said.
