Kyle Larson when asked about his plans for IndyCar series debut acknowledged that he is open to trying it in the future as he wanted to do it when the time is right. He pointed out that his future plans can be a logistic knight mare as it calls for a lot of flybacks from Charlotte to Indianapolis tracks. Kyle Larson went on to say that his wish to participate in any the Indy 500 demands sacrifice which should come within and outside of his NASCAR commitments.
“I’d be open to trying it in the future. I just want to do it when the time is right. Logistically it’s probably really hard to do. I mean, there is lots of flying back and forth between Charlotte and Indy and I would probably have to sacrifice some things on the NASCAR side as well as outside of NASCAR,” says Kyle Larson.
Kyle Larson went on to say that he wanted race in the Indy 500 with in the next four or five years as he doesn’t want himself to ride when he don’t feel like he isn’t in his prime, as most of the NASCAR drivers to have participated in Indy Series usually do it after retiring at an old age from NASCAR, which obviously hinder their chance at success. He reiterated that he definitely wanted to race in Indy one day.
“I would say I want to do it in the next four to five years. I don’t want to do it when I’m too old and when I don’t feel like I’m in my prime. But yeah, I would definitely like to do it someday,” added Kyle Larson.
