Carson Hocevar who drives the No.42 Chevrolet Silverado for Niece Motorsports as a full-time competitor in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series has become a regular in the headlines for a few weeks now with some of the news being great while some were not. He made his Truck Series debut as a part-time in 2019 and 2020, his full-time career started in 2021 with Niece Motorsports in which he placed 10th in the standings and is maintaining 8th place in this season’s standings.

Carson Hocevar made the headlines recently after leading 57 laps in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway before crashing in OT and finishing 16th with his fellow teammate Ross Chastain taking his Chevy to the Victory Lane and last week, he did it again after getting involved in a final laps crash in the Toyota 200 at World Wide Technology Raceway which led to him sustaining a leg injury and had to be helped out of his truck by the safety crew and he hopes to return to Sonoma Raceway this week.

“I’d much rather see the honest facts because it’s real,” Carson Hocevar requests honesty from his fellow racers

Carson Hocevar wants peers to be more straight-forward in accepting their bad days and also acknowledge any mistakes that they’ve done during their time on the track and just state out facts instead of cooking something up to gain any empathy from fans, he thinks that is the way one can improve and he also wants them to do that so because that is the right thing to do.

“As a fan, for me, I’d much rather see a driver just say, ‘Man, we sucked today. It was terrible. We missed it. We didn’t have it today, or, ‘Pit crew dropped the ball.’ Whatever the case may be. I’d much rather see the honest facts because it’s real. I’d like to see what they were talking about, what they saw in the race and how they can do better,” said Carson Hocevar.

He further added by saying that when someone starts telling something other than the truth after ruining his day and stealing his win, he’d go and talk to him right there during the celebration and listen to what all he has to say about it and would want him to accept his mistake if he did any and also seeks the complete story from that particular person.

“I would park right next to him during the Victory Lane deal and just want to talk to him, just want to hear him out. I want to hear what he has to say in that moment before he gives the ‘Car was really good today, great day for us’ speech.  I want you to explain your story before you get your moment, because you just took that moment away from me,” added Carson Hocevar.

Carson Hocevar also spoke about the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway controversial incident between Joey Logano and William Byron where Logano bumped into Byron to take the win and the fact that Logano didn’t feel any remorse for what he did to Byron made Hocevar feel like he wished he was in the place of Byron so he could go and speak to Logano about what had happened and made him look like the culprit instead of him remaining like a victim.

“I wanted to just jump into his body and just jump the wall and just go talk to (Logano), I’m like, ‘Go do something! Don’t cry into a TV camera and make yourself look like that.’ Just make him look like the buffoon and the bad guy. … Put it in his words, and then we can go from there after I know where he was at, whether it’s a BS story or if he wants to tell me the truth,” concluded Carson Hocevar.

With Carson Hocevar standing 8th with three top 5s and no victory yet, it’s time he ups his game if he wants to be in the playoffs.
