Michael McDowell acknowledged that the 2022 season definitely has been the best start they had if his last year’s Daytona 500 winning start is neglected and added that he believes the Next-Gen cars have the potential to produce good results by remaining in contention throughout the year.

That’s definitely the best start that we’ve had minus last year, and I think there’s a lot of potential with this NextGen car for us to have more good results and be in contention, Michael McDowell said.

The 37 years old went on to say that the team was optimistic going into 2022 as he believed this year could offer him more opportunities to shine. Michael McDowell went on to share his optimism about 2022 saying he is waiting for some of the tracks where there can be at their best to go for the win. He went on to suggest NASCAR outfits are fighting each other to get the car ready as soon as possible so they also have to be up to the mark.

We were optimistic about that going into this season that this could be a year for us to really have an opportunity to shine and get better results, and so I think there’s still a lot to come this year and I’m looking forward to some of the tracks that we have circled and seeing where we can stack up against the competition,” Michael McDowell said.

There’s a tremendous amount of development going on right now and there seem to be teams that are sorting it out pretty quickly, so we have to make sure that we keep up with the rapid pace of development of a brand-new car,” Michael McDowell added.
