‘It’s a bittersweet emotion,’ Jeffry Earnhardt on earning his career-best finish in his special outing with RCR at Talladega

The NACAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega was a special night for Richard Childress Racing and the Earnhardt family. The iconic RCR No:3 car hosted the third Earnhardt in the NASCAR track, this time Jeffry Earnhardt grandson of NASCAR legend and one of the all-time greatest Dale Earnhardt Sr. He is also the nephew of NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr.
The No:3 car has also been a symbol of NASCAR greatness for fans and the announcement of Jeffry Earnhardt was received well received within the NASCAR community. The 3ed generation Earnhardt is having a part-time racing season this year as he only participated in 5 out of the 9 races this season. Three of his outings came with Sam Hunt Racing and now this special outing with RCR in Talladega alongside a solo race start for Emerling-Gase Motorsports.
Jeffry Earnhardt secured his first career pole and the best finish of his 136 Xfinity career starts. But keeping it all aside he made sure everyone knows that he got what it takes to be an Earnhardt in NASCAR with his incredible run from P8 in the final restart at overtime to P5 at the beginning of the last laps then the run to P2 at the finish line.

Jeffrey Earnhardt acknowledged that securing P2 in the chaotic is a bittersweet feeling for him and added that the Talladega result will help him to prove his worth much more. He went on to thank the individuals behind the opportunity given to him to ride this iconic RCR car.
“It’s a bittersweet emotion… I feel like I‘ve proved myself in the past. Hopefully, this will prove that much even more. But I’m just very, very thankful for this opportunity and I don’t know that I can ever say thank you enough to everyone that’s given it to me,” Jeffrey Earnhardt said.
RCR owner Richard Childress acknowledged that the whole No:3 car crew did a great job putting together the car at the last minute for Jeffry Earnhardt and he made them proud with the result saying “I knew we were right there. You gotta be there to have a chance to win, you can’t win when you‘re loading onto the truck, so I felt really good about his chance. But I‘m proud of him. He did a great job. The whole team did a good job, just be putting it together last minute,”.
