Cole Custer who drives the No.41 Ford Mustang full-time in the Cup Series for Stewart-Haas Racing and part-time in the Xfinity Series driving the No.07 Ford Mustang for SS Green Light Racing seems to be really looking forward to going and battle on the Sonoma Raceway in the Toyota Save Mart 350 with his partner Autodesk returning for the fifth season with SHR at its hometown and he really wants to put up a good show for the fans during the 2.52-mile road-course race following the first one this season at the Circuit of The Americas which gave us Ross Chastain from Trackhouse Racing as its winner.

Road courses come as a strength to Cole Custer as will be appearing on road courses for the 11th time this week after having a career-best 9th place finish at Charlotte Roval and he finished 20th in his last season’s debut race at the 2.52-mile Sonoma Raceway circuit and Autodesk will be returning as his primary sponsor at the track and they have a really good tie-up given the fact that SHR has used their software to design and achieve extreme weight reduction to help improve the performance of the cars.

Cole Custer was asked about how he feels about Autodesk returning to sponsor him and how he feels to race at the company’s hometown and he responded by saying that he is eager to go and race at the track and that road courses are a place where you can boost your position and he also added by saying that he really hopes to secure a strong finish at the track which poses many technical threats.

“I’m really looking forward to it. I think the road courses have been something that’s always kind of a wild card and its always kind of an equalizer for the field. For us, it’s a great opportunity to have a solid run and hopefully find ourselves with a chance to win by the end of it. Sonoma is a really technical place that I enjoy,” said Cole Custer.

He further added by speaking about his first experience at the track and his relationship with the sponsor Autodesk for whom he ran in an Xfinity Series race and won and their teamwork was never to be looked back at with the feats they’ve achieved together on designing and making the car better with the help of the software they provide.

“Last year’s race was my first there in a Cup car, so there’s going to be a little bit of learning, It’s just a fun racetrack to run and we have Autodesk on the car this week. I ran an Xfinity race for them and we won with them and, from there, it’s just been a great relationship and it’s been awesome having them on the car. We use their software a ton at the race shop, to be able to design parts and do different things, so they’re a huge part of what we do,” concluded Cole Custer.

Cole Custer has not had a great season this year but he can still turn around his 27th place standings with a few solid runs to get a spot into the playoffs.
