‘It’s been night and day,’ Kurt Busch on embracing the new changes in NASCAR as a veteran
Kurt Busch
Kurt Busch made his move from Chip Ganassi Racing to Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin owned 23X1 Racing, to race alongside Bubba Wallace, as he became a free agent following Trackhouse Racing’s buyout of his team.
Kurt Busch has been on fire at 23X1, after his disappointing start at Daytona, securing a couple of Top 5 and top 10 till now which put him at P16 at the championship table. Though the season has been good so far, the veteran had to struggle a lot just like his fellow veterans owing to the changes that are being implemented in NASCAR.
The Cup Series had to wait for the 7th round of racing to see a driver who is older than 30 in the victory lane, the virtue of Denny Hamlin’s win at Richmond, as the young drivers took all the wins home before and after that as they were able to adapt to the changes fast. Now Kurt Busch has come forth revealing how the process of embracing the so far has been for Cup veterans.

Kurt Busch when asked about how long it takes for a veteran driver like himself to embrace the recent changes in NACAR the former champion revealed that after the Covid-19 break the Cup racing has been night and day for him and added that he just rolls with it smiling. He went on to say that it gives him more challenges to face and appreciation for his efforts. Kurt Busch added that the team crew is facing a lot of challenges than drivers to get the car ready for each weak in an entirely different track.
“Ever since we had the break for COVID and came back, it’s been night and day, so you roll with it. You just smile. For me, it gives me an appreciation more so of my job and the fun that this is, and the challenge that it takes for everybody to keep finding that rhythm of that sequence,” Kurt Busch said.
“I would honestly say that the crew chiefs and the crew members have a tougher time than the drivers do. Each week is fun, with new challenges everywhere we go,” Kurt Busch added.
Kurt Busch will enter the Food City Dirt race the weekend hoping to get his and 23X1’s first win in the 2022 season.
