Tyler Reddick who sports the No.8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series and has recently joined the Big Machine Racing team to take their No.48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 as a tribute to NASCAR legend Bobby Allison in this week’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race as a part-time contender.
Tyler Reddick has so far had a pretty impressive season with four top 10s and also has his fair share of DNFs with over 30 top 10s and no win so far in the Cup Series, whereas in the Xfinity Series, this week’s Mahindra Roxor 200 at Darlington will be his Xfinity Series debut with more races lined up for this season.
Big Machine Racing Team has reportedly said that Tyler Reddick will be joining their team to pay tribute with his No.48 to also celebrate the 50th anniversary of his 1972 Southern 500 victory to one of the NASCAR Hall of Famers, Bobby Allison.

Tyler Reddick seems to be deeply excited and overwhelmed on getting behind the wheel of an Xfinity Series car and that too at a Throwback Weekend paying tribute to one of NASCAR’s icons, Bobby Allison, and added that the team had put a really amazing car.
“I’m really excited to get back in an Xfinity Series car and it’s even cooler that I get to do it for Darlington Throwback Weekend. I’ve always loved that weekend because it honors our sports legends, like Bobby Allison. Big Machine Racing put together a really awesome looking car,” said Tyler Reddick.
He went on to say that he really wants to see the No.48 car in the Victory Lane as a token of gratitude on Bobby Allison’s 50th anniversary of his Southern 500 victory and with the collective efforts of RCR and BMR teams to make it as quick as possible and hopes to put it in the leading pack at Mahindra Roxor 200 this week.
“I hope we can get this hot rod in Victory Lane on the 50th anniversary of his Southern 500 win. Thanks to Big Machine Racing’s alliance with Richard Childress Racing, our Chevy will certainly be fast and I’m hoping we can get that No. 48 upfront,” added Tyler Reddick.
He concluded by saying that he is delighted for the chance to get behind the wheel and thanked the Big Machine Racing Team and is also anticipating competing in more Xfinity Series races this season.
“Thank you so much to Big Machine Racing for letting me get behind the wheel of the car. I’m really looking forward to it and to running other races in the future,” concluded Tyler Reddick.
