Ex-IndyCar star James Hinchcliffe expects Kyle Larson to be a contender in the 2024 Indy 500

Kyle Larson had been the most significant racer intern of his absolute talent in NASCAR for many years.

Ex-IndyCar star James Hinchcliffe expects Kyle Larson to be a contender in the 2024 Indy 500

The 2024 NASCAR season will witness Kyle Larson attempting the historic double duty. He will race in both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 races within 12 hours. Larson would be the first driver since Kurt Busch in 2016 to attempt the iconic double.

Ex-IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe, who was Busch’s teammate when he made the entry into the 500-mile race and secured a P6, has big expectations for the HMS driver. He believes the Rick Hendrick sponsor driver would be a contender for the victory.

I got the pleasure of being teammates with Kurt Busch the last time a Cup driver tried the double, and I was super impressed with how he performed over the month. Kyle Larson is coming in with just as much professionalism but probably even more prep, having done the Phoenix test, and I’m fully expecting him to be a contender at the Indy 500.
Hinchcliffe told NASCAR on NBC.

The 1100-mile race within hours would be a mega challenge for Larson. But if there is any driver in the current grid capable of such challenges, it’s Larson as he has immense potential,  talent, and versatility.

Kyle Larson had a big incident on his second-ever IndyCar test

After the rookie orientation program at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Kyle Larson went to Phoenix to get a taste of the Next-Gen machinery. While doing so he had a moment where he almost lost control of the car.

We had different air pressures to start (that late run), so the car felt a lot different early on, but I kinda had my mind made up that it was going to keep building tighter, but it was starting to get pretty loose pretty quickly. I was a bit confused. I wasn’t expecting that, I guess. I was trying to make adjustments on the weight-jacker, and I just got caught off guard a little bit.
Larson said.

Larson had secured the opportunity that will help him to make significant time investment in his Indy 500, this is because he has already secured a spot in the playoffs with his win last week at Las Vegas.
