Four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon was one of many San Francisco 49ers fans who left the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas with a broken heart. They came into the Super Bowl LVIII hoping to secure their first victory since 1994, with Brock Purdy leading the lines against the defending champions Kansas City Chiefs.
The 49ers took the lead initially before Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs back to level the game before pulling off the game-winning move in overtime to help them secure consecutive titles with the scoreline 25-22. Alongside Mahomes, Travis Kelce, who became the most recognized player in the NFL after he started dating pop star Taylor Swift, played a major role in the win with nine recs and 93 receiving yards.

Gordon came into the game hoping to see his team secure the first title since 1994, the same year he won his maiden NASCAR Cup race. The HMS vice president also shared a video of him cheering for the 49ers via social media.
Headed out to Vegas to watch my Niners win the Super Bowl. It’s been since 1994 since they won their last one, the same year I won my first race. So, 2024 it’s our year. Go Niners!Gordon said.

Gordon would soon get over the disappointment as he had to get back to working at Hendrick Motorsports to get his team ready for the 2024 Cup season opener, the Daytona 500. As a fan who eagerly waited for 30 years, Gordon will be ready to wait a few more years to see the 49ers win again.
Legacy Motor Club driver Erik Jones was in Vegas for the Super Bowl
Erik Jones, who drives the iconic No:43 car in the Cup Series for Legacy Motor Club, is known for his love for Football. He often posts about the sport via his social media handles, most often via X (previously Twitter).
He attended the event with his wife, Holly Jones, and had a good time. The irony, though, is the fact that he is a hardcore Detroit Line fan, and his team wasn’t playing. He might’ve come to the event to see the 49ers get beaten by the Chiefs, considering they came into the Super Bowl after defeating the Lions for the NFC championship.
Ex-NASCAR driver and Fox Sports analyst Clint Bowyer was also present at the event, and unlike the other two, he was on the winning side. Bowyer celebrated Cheief’s triumph for a second straight year, and he was over the moon following the victory.
