Seven times NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson has finally spoken out about the suspected murder-su**ide of his wife Chandra Johnson’s parents and nephew. The NASCAR legend hasn’t made any media appearances since the incident. He has shared a short statement with his fans via his official social media handles.

Jimmie Johnson said that his family is devastated about the loss of Chandra’s parents, Lynn and Jack Janway, and his nephew Dalton Janway. He thanked the fans for the love and support they gave the family in such a situation. Johnson added that his family is grateful to the racing community for their compassion.

“Our family is devastated by the profound loss of (Terry) Lynn, Jack, and Dalton Janway. We have been humbled by the outpouring of love and support during this unthinkably sad time and remain grateful for all of your compassion,” Johnson said in a statement released.

The incident saw Johnson, who was supposed to race in the inaugural Chicago Street Race, pull out from the event. It was one of the major events the LEGACY MOTOR CLUB co-owner was eager to take part in after announcing his return to NASCAR as team co-owner and part-time driver of the No:84 Chevy.

According to reports, on July 26, 9 pm EST, a 911 call was made from the Janway residence to the police. The woman, who is believed to be Terry Janway, claimed that there was an individual with a gun in their Oklahoma residence before quickly ending the call.

The police rushed to the scene, and when they got there, they spotted Jack Janway’s hand out of the window. But as soon as the police entered the house, they heard one last gunshot and found three individuals shot dead in the house.

At first, there were reports that claimed it was Jack Janway that killed his grandson and wife before killing himself. Later it was reported that it was  Terry Janway that committed the murder-su**ide. Dalton’s older brother came confirmed this theory to the media.
