Seven times NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson and his family is going through one of the most challenging times of their life. The parents and 11 years old nephew of Johson’s wife Chandra were shot dead in the home in Oklahoma. Seth Robison, the 16 years old nephew of Chandra Johnson, has now revealed that his grandma is behind the unfortunate murder-suicide.

Robinson is the stepbrother of Dalton Janway, who was killed. Dalton was adopted by his grandparents when he was just two years old, following reported drug abuse issues his and Seth’s mother, Chandra’s sister, had. They were living a happy life until the unfortunate incident shocked the family.

According to Seth, his grandmother Terry Janway has been suffering from depression since the unfortunate death of her son in a skydiving accident. She didn’t seek anyone’s help to overcome the loss, and she finally snapped on a tragic day and shot her Grandson and husband, Jack Janway. She shot herself soon after.

My grandmother, she was a very sweet lady. If you met her, she was the nicest person you ever met in your life. And I guess unknown to me, and quite a lot of other people, she had been struggling with depression and stuff we didn’t know about until it was too late,” Seth Robison told the Daily Mail.

The 16-year-old also revealed that his grandfather, Jack, had a big gun collection, like most of the households in the area. He believes that the gun used for the murder-suicide was from his collection. Initially, the police suspected Jack was behind the incident, but now they speculate it was Terry Janway. The police department has yet to give any statement on who shot who in the unfortunate incident.

Seth Robinson broke the unfortunate news to Jimmie Johnson’s wife

The teenager was the one who had to deliver the sad news to his aunt Chandra via phone. He revealed that he called her aunt and told her the truth immediately because he couldn’t find any other way to convey it.

I was the one that had to break the news to my aunt Channie. About all I could do was tell her to find a place to sit down. I just then had to tell her straight up that they were gone. She took it pretty hard, but I think she held herself together pretty well. But she was just in shock, she didn’t believe it, she didn’t want to believe it. I didn’t either,” he said.

Jimmie Johnson withdrew from the Chicago Street Race, an event he was eagerly waiting to make his debut, after learning about the issue. Fans and the whole NASCAR garage offered their condolences to the family and are remembering them in their prayers.
