“Just a bummer day for us,” Alex Bowman ‘proud’ as he finishes 5th at Dover

Alex Bowman

Alex Bowman who drives the No.48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports as a full-time NASCAR Cup Series contender felt a bit frustrated with how his outing at Dover International Speedway did not go as expected as he placed 5th at the DuraMAX Drydene 400.

Alex Bowman’s 2022 season so far has been pretty impressive with him emerging victorious at the Pennzoil 400 in Las Vegas and he went on to acquire six top 10s and two top 15s with his other outings being a bit higher than P20. These stats of his act as evidence of how amazing of a racer he is.

“To go last to fifth at a place like this is nothing to be ashamed of,” said Alex Bowman

Alex Bowman was asked if he struggled in a similar way to Ross Chastain to which he said no and then added that it was disappointing to see how he faired at Dover given the fact that he had a shot at the DuraMAX Drydene 400 victory in his No.48 Chevy.

“No, but I know how Ross (Chastain) races, so I am sure he was just battling hard. But yeah, just a bummer day for us because obviously, we had a shot at the win there in our No. 48 Ally Chevrolet,” said Alex Bowman.

He went on to say that the caution at the end forced him to start last but he managed to come up to 5th which is something to be proud of given the difficulty of achieving this feat at Dover and concluded by saying with his team and car, he expected an even better race at the DuraMAX Drydene 400.

“Then that caution in the middle of the pit cycle had us starting the last run last. To go last to fifth at a place like this is nothing to be ashamed of because it’s hard to pass. As far as my guys and the race car that we brought, just wish it would have gone a little better for us,” concluded Alex Bowman.

With Alex Bowman standing 5th in the points table with 7 victories and 64 top 10s in 236 starts, will he triumph at making this his best season yet?
