Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin marked his way back to victory lane in style at Bristole Motor Speedway. He beat teammate Martin Truex Jr. in the race where tire management was the king and earned his spot in the playoffs. Hamlin secured back-to-back wins for JGR and Toyota in the new Camry. Last week race at Phoenix was won by his teammate Christoper Bell.  

After the win, Denny Hamlin and the fans had some hilarious interaction as always. This time it was one fan, who thew two cucumbers to the track while the No:11 driver was celebrating the win. This was done when a section of the fans as usual booing him. Unfortunately for the fan Hamlin didn’t spot it and went on to join his crew in celebrating a much-earned victory.

The track officials though didn’t forget about it as last year as well, a cucumber was thrown at Hamlin. One official picked up the two cucumbers and went all the way to the victory lane and following the celebration with the trophy, delivered it to the 23XI Racing co-owner. Hamlin was quick to pose for picture holding them on his hand.

Later Hamlin chopped the cucumber with the sword the race winner gets from the track. The Toyota driver already has three swords from Bristol at his home. He won his last Bristol sword during the second Bristol race of the season in 2023. Hamlin would be hoping to continue this momentum and charge for the championship in 2024.

The fans who threw Cucumber at Denny Hamlin revealed himself before the race

Ahead of the Bristol race, NASCAR hosted a fan show for the supporters in the track facility. NASCAR legend Kenny Wallace was the host. Denny Hamlin and 2023 Daytona 500 winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr. were the guests and had some fun interactions.

During the show, Wallace gave Hamlin the Cucumber that was thrown at him in 2023. They kept it secure in the freezer to give him and during this funny interaction Wallace spotted a fan in the crowd who had two cucumbers in his hand.

He was called to the front of the stage and the man who was earning a Kyle Larson hoodie, which Wallace quickly spotted, revealed that his name is Mark and he was the one who threw it at Hamlin in 2023. He then asked the three times Daytona 500 winner to chop the cucumber with the sword at victory lane, which Hamlin did later.
