The No. 45 Toyota Camry driver Tyler Reddick had an awful race at Michigan International Speedway. The pit crew mistakes during the race are becoming a pattern for the 23XI Racing team. It was another week of pit mistakes for Reddick and his crew in FireKeepers Casino 400. Though the 27-year-old had plenty of speed and was a top-5 car all weekend, pit stops in the final stage star-crossed him.
Tyler Reddick was leading the race and aiming for a win, but a green flag pit stop messed up his chance of another NASCAR win. Michael Jordan’s driver stopped to pit for a tire change and fuel reload. However, it turned out to be a disaster for the young man. During the pit stop, there was an issue as the jack came down, and the rear changer signaled the crew members off and moved to the left of the car. Reddick’s right rear tire was loose after he left the pit road, and he had to return to the pit.
Tyler Reddick almost spun and crashed but made it to the pit road. The 27-year-old did not hold back on his team radio as he lost it with his pit crew. He said over the radio, “You didn’t even look at it! Didn’t even check it! F***ing bull***t! Unacceptable!” It was a heated radio from Reddick, and one can hardly blame him. After all, he was contending for a win when the crew’s mistake created a gap between the race leaders and him.

Reddick’s 2023 NASCAR Cup season has been quite frustrating, as somehow, an issue always prevents him from winning. His first win of the season came at the iconic Circuit Of The Americas, and there was a chance to increase his win count. However, the pit crew failed to get his rear tire tightly in Michigan. It cost him solid points, and he ended his race with a 30th-place finish.
Tyler Reddick displayed his epic driving skills until things took a turn for him. Michael Jordan’s and Denny Hamlin’s 23XI Racing crew have been guilty of these mess-ups in the past. There is no doubt that Reddick would have fared well in Michigan, but things did not go his way.
Now it is up to the team owners to look into the crew and make improvements, as this is not the first time they did Reddick dirty. NASCAR fans fumed at Michael Jordan’s team after the Michigan race. However, Jordan is more involved in 23XI Racing after selling his majority stake in his NBA team Charlotte Hornets. One can expect him to check on his crew’s performances.
