NASCAR and Camping World’s sponsorship deals for the Truck Series remain questionable for 2023 and beyond
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
NASCAR has been hosting the Truck Series races with its seven-year sponsorship deal with Camping World from the 2009 season till the 2018 season and the Truck Series naming rights were with Gander Outdoors for 2019 and 2020 after Camping World returned back for the 2021 and 2022 seasons and now their future with NASCAR seems uncertain going forward for the third-tier NASCAR Series.
The initial agreement between NASCAR and Camping World for the Truck Series is due to end along with this season and it is pretty obvious that unless a deal is soon struck with a new partner or if the agreement between the two organizations now is extended, the Truck Series will be in jeopardy for the next season and the coming years if there is no proper conduct of races following this questionable future.
Let’s take a look into the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ history
NASCAR started racing the trucks way back in 1995 for its debut season under the name, SuperTruck Series, and the world witnessed Richard Childress Racing’s Mike Skinner take home the debut Truck Series Championship victory after dominating the season with eighteen top 10s and eight victories in the twenty-race schedule.
However, the Supertruck Series was soon known to be the Craftsman Truck Series, following NASCAR’s deal with the tool manufacturer after spending only one year as SuperTruck Series, and it stayed the same till 2008 when Camping World came to host the Series with its new name, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and has seen the sport take to new levels since their time with Camping World.
Camping World has also struck deals with other races including the Camping World NHRA Drag Racing Series and the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) led by the sport’s Hall of Famers, Tony Stewart, and Ray Evernham, and the Series has been hosted for two years after a late announcement of their return for a third season and the Truck Series’ future is still doubtful unless a deal is soon struck with Camping World or a new sponsor.
With the partnership deal coming to an end between NASCAR and Camping World for the Truck Series, will they return to host the Series together again or give the mantle to someone new?
