NASCAR Twitter in splits after Conservative Asian-origin YouTuber accuses Bubba Wallace of “anti-Asian hate”

Bubba Wallace is one of the most divisive drivers in the NASCAR grid. The sole African American in the cup series has always attracted criticism, most of the times unjustified, for his actions on and off the track. Bubba Wallace found himself in the line of fire once again after his heated confrontation with 2022 cup champion Kyle Larson.
Bubba Wallace shoved Kyle Larson multiple times after he wrecked the latter into the grass. Wallace’s action was prompted by an aggressive overtake by Larson that send the No:45 to the wall. The 23X1 Racing driver retaliated and both ended up in the infield care center.

Conservative Youtuber accuses Bubba Wallace of anti-Asian hate
Conservative YouTuber Ian Miles Cheong took it to Twitter and accused Wallace of anti-Asian hate by sharing the video of the Wallace- Larson confrontation. Cheong accused Wallace of falsely hanging a noose in his garage alluding to the “noose controversy”. He said that Wallace violently attacked the sole Asian driver in NASCAR. He demanded that the Violence against Asians needs to stop.
“Bubba Wallace, who falsely claimed that someone hung a noose in his garage last year, violently attacks one of the only Asian drivers in NASCAR. Violence against Asians needs to stop,” Ian Miles Cheong Tweeted.

How NASCAR Twitter reacted to the Bubba Wallace criticism
NASCAR twitter had a mixed reaction to the accusation from the Youtuber. Some fans agreed with the accusation while some spoke up against it. Some pointed out the hypocrisy of fans when criticizing Wallace.
Bubba Wallace and Kyle Larson have found themselves in racial abuse controversies in the past
Kyle Larson and Bubba Wallace are from minority races backgrounds in the US. Both are of mixed races. Larson is a Japanese American and Bubba is of African American background. Both drivers have found themselves in controversies that involve racial abuse.
Bubba Wallace was part of a noose controversy in 2020. Wallace is still accused of planting the noose by a section of the community. Larson on the other hand was suspended for the whole of 2020 for using the N-word during a virtual race.
