NASCAR and Legacy Motor Club (LMC) took disciplinary action against the No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 driver Noah Gragson and suspended him indefinitely. This is due to his behavior on social media. Gragson liked a meme about the tragic death of George Floyd (Floyd, an African-American, was brutally murdered by a police officer). The NBA icon and Cup team owner Brad Daugherty joined Dale Jarrett to share his opinion on the Noah Gragson incident.
The NBC broadcasters spoke about this controversy in Michigan. Gragson is currently suspended but will hit the track after going through some consequences. Daugherty and Jarrett discussed this during the broadcast. They both agreed that they were disappointed this happened and applauded NASCAR’s rules for not tolerating this behavior. Daugherty hopes that Noah Gragson will learn and grow from this.
Speaking during the NBC broadcast, Brad Daugherty said, “I think not only is Noah disappointed, I think we’re all disappointed that this happened. NASCAR has done an incredible job of being very very strong, very very stern on where they’re at and what they will accept and not accept. And this is unacceptable and so you applaud them on that.”

Brad Daugherty claims Noah Gragson will face severe consequences
The JTG Daugherty Racing co-owner said, “The thing I hope comes of this is that Noah has a great opportunity, which he will, to learn from this, and he will grow from this. So, I’m pulling for Noah in the long run but the consequences will be very very stern and very very difficult.” The 57-year-old hopes Gragson will learn from his mistakes and be better.
Dale Jarrett agreed with Daughterty and said everyone is accountable for their life. He claimed that this is something everyone, including Noah Gragson, can learn a valuable lesson from and move forward. After the suspension, Gragson posted a statement. He said he was disappointed in himself and messed up “Plain and simple.” The 25-year-old reflected on his action and said, “I try to treat everyone equally no matter who they are.”
Legacy Motor Club addressed the issue following the incident and suspended Noah Gragson for his actions that do not represent the team’s values. As a result, Josh Berry replaced Gragson in the No.42 entry for the Cup race at Michigan International Speedway. The action taken by LMC and NASCAR shows that the sport does not tolerate racism. And serious measures will be taken against those who don’t comply.
