NASCAR Pinty’s Series opening lap at the Grand Prix of Trois-Riviéres was chaotic due to an accident. The No.74 Dodge driver Kevin Lacroix started the race from fifth place and tried to move to the left of the No. 27 Paille Course/Racing driver Andrew Ranger. However, Ranger closed the gap to the corner sending Lacroix over the roof of his car. 

Thankfully both drivers were unharmed and climbed out of their cars without much help. Due to this first-lap crash, Lacroix and Ranger ended up in the barriers, as the impact was huge. They occupied the last two positions in the race after losing significant points. Although, what matters is that they both walked out of the accident safely. NASCAR fans reacted to this terrifying incident on social media.

The video of Kevin Lacroix launching over the top of Andrew Ranger on the first lap of Pinty’s Series at GP3R went viral on social media. Pinty’s Series is a NASCAR racing series in Canada that was founded in 1981 with Chevrolet, Dodge, and Ford as their manufacturers. This recent collision between Lacroix and Ranger was quite scary and made rounds on various media channels.

NASCAR fans reacted to this video of the crash by saying, “OH MY GOODNESS! What a wild wreck at the start of today’s Pinty’s race.” They could not believe what had happened. “Not a great start,” and “Did Lacroix think it was an overtime restart or something? This is not something you usually see on lap 1” were two of the comments. The fans were surprised that Lacroix went for that move on the first lap of the race. 

“Ouch! Thank God they are ok!” was one user’s comment. Fans are glad that both drivers were unharmed after the horrifying accident. There is no doubt that motorsports is a dangerous sport, and incidents like these can be quite scary. Take a look at more reactions below. 

The No. 96 GM Paillé Chevrolet driver Marc-Antoine Camirand won the race after the chaotic opening lap. L.P. Dumoulin was also involved in the same crash with Lacroix and Ranger but tried taking advantage of it with his early fuel stop. He came out ahead of Camirand and tried to maintain his position. However, Camirand became the champion of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières by winning the race.
