Sheldon Creed competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and drives the No.2 Chevrolet Camaro for Richard Childress Racing. Recently, it has been announced that he will drive the No. 78 Chevrolet Camaro for Live Fast Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series with sponsorship from Whelen Engineering. Creed will run his maiden Cup race on 10th September at Kansas Speedway.
The 25-year-old is in his second full-time season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Sheldon Creed is tenth in the driver’s standings after seventeen races. Despite showing speed in the first half of the season, he had bad luck due to accidents and other misfortunes. Creed’s impressive pace brought him a Cup race opportunity. He has been fondly called the “Prodigy of Short Course” due to his brilliant short-course off-road racing.
Sheldon Creed spoke about his maiden Cup race. He said, “I’m excited to race a Cup race for the first time as that’s been the dream for a long time. Whelen is a great company and I’m appreciative for their support in allowing us to do this with Live Fast Motorsports. We hope to have a good day at Kansas Speedway come September.”
Sheldon Creed has a varied motorsports background

Creed has six wins out of twelve races in the Stadium Super Trucks Series, and he is also the 2018 ARCA Menards Series Champion. The 25-year-old competed full-time in NASCAR Truck Series in 2019, 2020, and 2021 with GMS Racing. He secured eight wins and won the 2020 series championship. Since the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity season, Creed has been a full-time participant with RCR. Out of 50 starts, he has 20 top-ten finishes and one pole.
Creed is tenth in the championship standings and hopes to secure his first win in the series. Meanwhile, he will be the thirteenth Stadium Super Trucks (SST) driver to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series. It includes the SST founder and his mentor Robby Gordon. Others like Travis Pastrana, Kenny and Rusty Wallace, Max Papis, Zane Smith, and others have had SST experience before making their Cup debut.
Sheldon Creed has experience in Aussie Racings Cars, Trans-Am Series, and NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West. He also participated in rally raid events. It is safe to say Creed has the experience needed to be a Cup driver. However, his performance level in his Cup debut remains to be seen.
