Richard Petty’s iconic Plymouth Fury from the 1960 cup season was up for sale on eBay for over $1 Million
Richard Petty's 1960 Plymouth fury
Plymouth Fury is one of the most iconic cars raced by the NASCAR cup series legend Richard Petty back in the 60s. A No:43 Fury driven by the record 7-time cup champion in 1960, where he finished P2 in the grand national tour championship, has been put for sale on eBay. He secured three race wins that season.
The restored Petty Enterprise vehicle has the iconic Carolina blue and white finish and all authentic parts. The car has authenticated documentation and the period-correct Chrysler 383 RB raised block engine. It is put up for auction for a sum of $1.2 million.
The car was abandoned for over three decades. The current owner put his heart and soul into restoring the racing icon’s car. The vehicle has been at display in the Wayne Lensing’s Historic Auto Attractions Museum in Roscoe, Illinois, for the last ten years.
The car has been put up for sale multiple times in the past but failed to attract buyers for the asking price. The auction has now been listed as ended on the e-commerce site. No clear reports are suggesting the sale of the car.

Richard Petty welcomed seven times cup champion Jimmie Johnson to the owner’s group of Petty GMS Racing
Jimmie Johnson joined the Petty GMS Racing, formerly Richard Petty Motorsports. Petty now has a minority stake in the team and is also an ambassador for them. Johnson will drive a third PGR car next season for eight races, as per the reports. He already confirmed the 2023 Daytona 500 entry.
The partnership is built to increase both the market value and competitiveness of the team. The two record-time winners will be the right mentors for GMS drivers Erik Jones and Noah Gregson, who will make his full-time debut next year. They can sure lead the young ones and the GMS teams to cup glory.
