As per his new deal, he would be seen providing his services at selected races for the team, and the official announcement was made on Friday. He will make his first appearance for the team at the upcoming event at Darlington Raceway.
While Ryan Newman is returning after spending some time away from the sport, he knows how to put a NASCAR Cup Series machinery through the wringer. He is a former 18-time winner and has a plethora of experience to become a big challenge for the current drivers in the Cup Series.
Newman is quite excited about what is heading his way and while talking about it, he recently said, “I am grateful for the opportunity to work with Rick Ware Racing and Ford. I think this will be good for all of us with our combined experience and knowledge. Being part of the throwback weekend at one of my favorite tracks in Darlington is pretty special. After recently being named one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers, it carries even some significance.”

Newman is coming to a troubled RWR
While Ryan Newman will be seen driving for the Rick Ware racing team in the upcoming races, it has also come to light that he will replace Cody Ware on the team. Cody was recently arrested for assaulting a woman. He has been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR-sanctioned events.
Switching gears, Newman has previously made 26-starts at Darlington and has managed 14 top-10 finishes. Moreover, Rick Ware, the owner of the Rick Ware racing team, has full trust in Newman to do a good job. While talking about the same, he said, “I remember watching Thursday Night Night Thunder’ on ESPN and seeing Ryan compete against some stout competition in those days. I became a fan then, and when he first came to NASCAR, I knew he was going to be a great driver and win a lot of races.”
It seems the whole Rick Ware racing team is excited about Ryan Newman’s return to the Cup Series with them, and it is going to be fascinating to see how he will perform at the upcoming race in Darlington.
