Ryan Blaney was unhappy after what happened at the Sonoma Raceway. Toward the end of the Toyota Save Mart 350, Micheal McDowell, the No.34 Ford Mustang driver for Front Row Motorsports, bumped into the No.12 Ford Mustang driver for Team Penske, Ryan Blaney. Due to this unfortunate incident, Blaney, who was within the top ten, spun out.
The Penske driver could not recover after the spin. After the race, Blaney was questioned about what had happened with Micheal McDowell. The 29-year-old did not want to talk about the incident. When asked about the wreck, he kept walking and refused to entertain the topic. However, as the reporter followed him, Blaney told them not to create controversy.
Ryan Blaney said, “He dumped me. Gosh, I don’t know I can’t see it. Stop trying to start controversy.” His statement accuses McDowell of dumping him. However, it might also be a racing incident. This is because both drivers, Micheal McDowell and Blaney, are known for their friendly personalities in the NASCAR Cup Series. Their main focus is to race and secure good points for the team.
Ryan Blaney had to settle for P31 due to the incident with Micheal McDowell

Though they try to avoid unnecessary drama, Micheal McDowell got his revenge on Ty Gibbs at the All-Star Open. This was because Gibbs made contact with him on Lap 57. Days later, McDowell wrecked into Ryan Blaney, who was running in the top ten. Team Penske driver went on to finish the race P31. However, Blaney need not worry as he has already moved to the playoffs thanks to his Coca-Cola 600 win.
Though Blaney was out of the competition due to the incident with McDowell, the No: 34 driver looked strong during the race. He was even top five throughout the race at Sonoma. McDowell finished P7. It was a decent result for him, considering the fight for position with Aj Allmendinger and Ryan Blaney. McDowell did not avoid the No:12 driver during the tangle causing him to spin. It is unknown whether it was an intentional wreck or not.
Meanwhile, Martin Truex Jr led 51 laps at the Sonoma Raceway and won the Toyota Save Mart 350. On the other hand, Blaney had a bad run and tried to move to the front. Unfortunately, he had to settle for P31. Ryan Blaney lost points and will hope to regain them in the upcoming races. He is now third in the Cup Series standings.
