Kyle Larson has extended his Hendrick Motorsports contract for there more years. The 2021 cup champion will remain In the No:5 Next-Gen car till 2026. HMS has also announced the extension of Hendrickcars.com’s sponsorship deal with the driver for three years. The partnership will cover Kyle Larson’s NASCAR and non-NASCAR endeavors.

Kyle Larson’s contract extension comes as no surprise as the 2021 cup champion has earned it with his on-track performance with HMS. Kyle Larson was on fire last season with HMS dominating the championship with 10 wins. The defending champion, compared to last season, is yet to hit a high note. Larson has only two wins so far this season.

HMS owner Rick Hendrick acknowledged during the announcement of the extension that his driver has earned the extension, saying, “When Kyle joined our team, the expectations were sky high from both inside and outside the organization. To say he’s exceeded them would be an understatement,”.

Kyle Larson on the announcement pointed out that he is the best is yet to come for the team, saying,  “I can’t explain how much this opportunity means. The chance to compete for the top team and best sponsors in racing is something every driver dreams about… Even though we’ve done some great things so far, I truly believe our best is ahead of us,”.

Fans had a mixed reaction to Kyle Larson signing the extension. Some fans were happy about the HMS driver’s contract extension as they want to see more of the dominance he showed on the track for many years.  At the same time, some were quick to call him out as they are yet to forgive him for the racism scandal, he was part of that sidelined him for the whole 2020 season.
