‘Still dumbasses today,’ Bubba Wallace calls out fans who discredit his 2021 Talladega win
Bubba Wallace at Talladega
Bubba Wallace became only the second Black NASCAR racer to win a Cup Series Race after the 23X1 Racing driver won the Talladega Cup races in 2021. NASCAR Hall of Famer Wendell Scott was the only Black Racer to win a Cup Series Race until Bubba Wallace.
Just like his predecessor’s win Bubba’s win also had controversies as his win came after the race was called off by NASCAR due to an intense storm and he was awarded the win since he led the last laps of the race. But some individuals in the NASCAR community were quick to discredit his win by calling it Fixed or him unworthy.
Ahead of the Talladega Cup Race Bubba Wallace comes forth calling out individuals who are commenting on Social Media bashing Wallace’s Talladega win.
Find out what Bubba Wallace said
Bubba Wallace said that there have been plenty of instances where teams have earned victory due to rain delays and similar stuff. He went on to say the people who are not a fan of yours will continue to call his win rigged and only due to rain. Bubba Wallace questioned fans why the other drivers didn’t win the race even though they also had similar information on whether and other stuff like him.
“There have been plenty of instances where those have happened, and teams have capitalized on it. The people that aren’t fans of yours and are just going to continue to carry that to the grave that it was rigged, or we only won because it rained. All of the 40 drivers in the field knew it was going to rain. Why didn’t they win?” Bubba Wallace said.
Bubba Wallace went on to say that he still read posts and comments about him on social media and every time he does it, he finds individuals who are still dumbasses today.
“You can’t spend too much time on there and feed into that, although I do go back and read the comments. Every post that I click on there—I just go back and read the comments because it’s like ugh, no, still dumbasses today,” Bubba Wallace added.
Bubba Wallace finished P17 behind teammate Kurt Busch at P16 after the duo was forced out of the front row by a wreck as Kyle Larson bumped Kurt Busch who went on to hit Bubba Wallace to the wall. Until them, both the 23X1 cars had amazing runs and were close to securing a win or podium at Talladega.
