SuperCar prodigy Brodie Kostecki is working behind the scenes to make his NASCAR Cup series debut in the 2023 season. He will follow legendary driver Shane van Gisbergen, who is scheduled to make his Cup debut with Trackhouse Racing as part of PROJECT 91. Van Gisbergen is only the second driver since Kimi Raikkonen to drive the Chevy team’s car for international drivers.

Nathan Cayzer, the Australian driver’s manager, has revealed details about a potential deal in place for his Cup debut.  He said Kostecki is passionate about a potential debut, and his entourage expects to land a deal within weeks.

It looks good at the moment. Hopefully over the next week, we’ll get something locked away, and we’ll see the young fella in one, which is exciting for him. I think it’s just in his blood to want to do it,” Cayzer said.

It’s just a matter of time when we can get him in one and when we do I’m sure he’ll do us all proud and do really well… I think so, I don’t think it’ll be a problem. People want to support him and that’s the most important thing,” Cayzer added.

Brodie Kostecki has already raced in NASCAR-sanctioned events in his junior days. In 2013 and 2014, he made selected appearances in the ARCA Mendes Series. He had a career-best finish of P5 in the series, which came in his final race ever in the NASCAR series. He scored in the top 5 at the Dover Monster mile.

Brodie Kostecki will most probably make his debut at the Indy Road Course race

It’s less likely to see a driver with less experience in the oval choosing such a track to debut in the premier division and impress the racing community. So a road course race will be the most suitable option for him. Alongside the Chicago Street Race, Indy, Watkins Glen, and Charlotte ROVAL are the most available options for him.

He might not debut in Chicago, where Van Gisbergen is set to race, as it’s just two weeks left for the event. So this leaves him with three actual road course races. If he chooses to debut in another Glen or ROVAL, he might have to sacrifice starting a SuperCar race. Considering he has a genuine shot at winning the title this season, it is highly unlikely.

Considering all these circumstances driving in the road course event hosted at the iconic Indy 500 track is his only option. Trackhouse PROJECT 91 car or 23Xi’s No:67 car are the best part-time rides he can hope to produce an impressive run. Rick Ware Racing, which gave F1 champion Jenson Button his debut in COTA, is also an option. Fans have to wait a few more weeks for the final announcement.
