The racing community was shocked after it was announced that the ex-NASCAR champion Tony Stewart’s Superstar Racing Experience racing series has postponed its 2024 season. The decision was made due to unfavorable market conditions and sponsorship issues. SRX is yet to give any further updates about their next move.
The decision caused a lot of reaction from the race fans, and some of them were critical of the owners. Some fans even went on to proclaim that the decision shows that Stewart Haas Racing, the NASCAR Cup team co-owned by Tony Stewart, is in for the same fate. These comments reached Stewart, and he wasn’t happy about it.

In a recent podcast appearance, Stewart addressed the same comment while talking about downsizing his direct operations. He was quick to discredit the individuals who use social media to give such scathing opinions and called them idiots. Stewart confirmed that the SRX decision will not affect the operation of any of his racing teams.
I read something after our [SRX] announcement yesterday: some know-it-all on the internet said, ‘Well, that’s it. SHR’s over; shut the doors down now.’ I don’t make calls on the car anyway. It’s not going to change, it’s not changing one thing we’re doing in North Carolina. No different than it’s not changing what we’re doing with the sprint car, it’s not changing what we’re doing with Eldora Speedway. So, people who have that mindset are dumb***es, they’re idiots. They don’t know what they’re talking about.Stewart said via Hot Rod Pod.
Tony Stewart’s racing operations are diverse
Stewart is the jack of all trades when it comes to racing, as he has established himself as a race winner in every racing series he has been part of. From winning championships in IndyCar and NASCAR to titles in Sprint car and Late Model dirt racing, he has done it all. His race team ownership portfolio is as diverse as his career.

He co-owns NASCAR front runners Stewart Haas Racing and fields Four cars in the Cup series and two cars in the Xfinity Series. They have previously won two Cup titles and they are the reigning Xfinity Series champions.
Stewart also has a Sprint Car team that races in multiple championships including the races that are held in the iconic Eldora Speedway that he co-owns. He also owns a drag-racing team, which he and his wife race for.
