Tony Stewart said in a statement.
I hope that we can honor Ashlea by controlling what we can control on the highway. Losing her is a sobering reminder of how precious life is. Please join me in keeping her family and friends in your prayers.
Tony Stewart added.

What caused Ashlea Albertson’s tragic death?

According to reports, Ashlea Albertson, who scored an impressive P7 finish in the Circle City Raceway midget race, was on the passenger seat of a GMC Terrain driven by her 31-years old Fiancé Jake. They were coming back home from Gulf Shores via Interstate 65 highway.

Albertson vehicle and a Chevy Malibu were seen accelerating, refusing to let each other pass around 11.30 am (EST), south of Seymour. The Chevy, driven by a 22-years old male, swerved across the lanes. This resulted in a collision after the Terrain spun out of control.

Unfortunately, the GMC rolled over, ejecting Albertson and her boyfriend out of the car. The couple was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital. But the 24-year-old racer was pronounced dead upon arrival. Thankfully the family didn’t lose Jake. The police have started an investigation into the matter.
