“Crap wagons”- NASCAR Twitter reacts as Tony Stewart revives the Thursday Night Thunder

NASCAR legend Tony Stewart has partnered with ESPN to bring back the iconic racing show from the 1980s, the “Thursday Night Thunder,”.  The show will feature Superstar Racing Experience or SRX, the racing series promoted by the SHR co-owner.

SRX debuted in 2021 and featured some of the legends of the sport. Tony Stewart himself drove in the series and secured two wins. IndyCar legend Michael Andretti won the championship with his impressive performance.

A multi-year media rights agreement is signed among the partners, and all six events of the series will be broadcasted every  Thursday nig 9 p.m. ET on the ESPN channel and ESPN App, according to the joint statement released by SRX and ESPN.

Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) and ESPN have announced a multi-year media rights agreement to see the series air exclusively on ESPN. In the Summer of 2023, the races will air on six consecutive Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN and the ESPN App, bringing back the iconic,“ ESPN and SRX said in the joint statement released.
