“Hot damn that’s ugly”- NASCAR Twitter reacts to Martin Truex Jr. 2023 primary paint scheme
Martin Truex Jr.
The 2022 cup season was something to forget for Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Martin Truex Jr. The former cup champion couldn’t secure a solo win in 2022 and missed out on a playoff. The drop in form was massive, considering he ran the Championship 4 race last year.
Truex Jr.’s regular season elimination came down to his winless run. He was in the top 10 in terms of championship thought out the season, but his incredible consistency wasn’t enough for progression. He failed to match the points scored by Ryan Blaney, the only winless driver to secure a playoff spot.
The 2022 season was supposedly the retirement year for the veteran, but he decided to extend his contract for one more year. The hopes are high for Truex in 2023, as this season can make or break his legacy. And to facilitate a smooth redemption season, JGR has wholly revamped the paint scheme of the No:19 Toyota Camry.
The major paint scheme for 2023, though, carries Truex’s last season’s color pallet and has some designer tweaks to it. A subtle camouflage design has now taken over the entire hood and side of the car. It also replaces some of the orange parts on the side of the vehicle.
The scheme update is to advertise the new venture of Truex Jr’s primary sponsor Bass Pro Shops Conservation. They have introduced a new concept of the ‘CLUB Card,’ and the word‘ CLUB’ has also taken up a place in the hood.

How NASCAR Twitter reacted to Martin Truex Jr.’s new Scheme
The No:19 is one of many teams with sponsorship deals with Bass Pro Shops Conservation. Xfinity Series driver Josh Berry is also primarily sponsored by the form. His boss Dale Earnhardt Jr. and RCR driver Austin Dillon also has some association with them. Being their leading cup representative, Truex Jr’s scheme always stands out, and it is not wrong to say that paint schemes weren’t up to the mark in the past.
The new scheme, according to many, has the potential to change the wrong perception. Most of the fans are satisfied with the update—few still wish to see better from the No:19 team. Some fans even compared Noah Gregson’s scheme to the 2022 Xfinity series.
