Kyle Larson made his return to the victory lane in an impressive fashion on Sunday, as he held off charging Tyler Reddick to win the Las Vegas Cup race. His third race win at Vegas came in a semi-dominant manner as till the final laps of the race it was kind of smooth sailing for him.

He swept the two stages and led over 180 laps on his way to victory lane to celebrate the triumph with his family and No:5 HMS crew. But there were some hiccups for him in the race including a pit-stop incident that involved Joe Gibbs Racing’s Ty Gibbs in the second stage of the race.

Gibbs, who was having an eventful race, was leaving the pits when he made contact with Larson who was coming from the right rear. Both drivers couldn’t be blamed for the incident and fortunately, both Chevy and Toyota cars didn’t suffer any major damage and were fine after the incident.

Both drivers came back from the incident to secure solid finishes with Larson taking the win and Gibbs scoring a P5. The JGR driver’s finish was more impressive considering before the impact he had issues with his gearbox and lost the first gear. But the youngster showed maturity and thrived.

How fans on X reacted to the incident

The fans on social had a mixed reaction to the incident, and many were critical of Ty Gibbs. It is no surprise considering Joe Gibbs’ grandson despite his prowess is among the most disliked drivers on the grid while Larson is a fan favorite and a proven legend of the sport.

While some comments were hilarious criticism and light heated, some weren’t. Few mentioned Gibbs’ rise in the NASCAR ladder due to his family, while there were also comments mentioning his past as an aggressive driver. There was also some criticism targeting Larson.
