Tyler Reddick‘s debut season with 23XI Racing has been impressive. For the first time, he has qualified for the R-8 in the Cup Series Playoffs and is currently in sixth in the standings. Before signing for 23XI in 2022, Reddick used to race for Richard Childress Racing. He has won one of his two Xfinity championships with them. In a recent interview, Reddick talked about how signing up for 23XI changed his career.
Reddick said that representing Michael Jordan comes with its perks. He said that the team is very supportive of him. He said that the team’s mentality has changed him and pushed him to do better. According to him, he used to be satisfied with qualifying P15. However, after joining 23XI, he is more disappointed than he wants to be with that result. Reddick believes this shows the team’s ambition and is glad to be a part of it.
“When you get to represent Michael Jordan and drive for 23XI, it has its perks… The biggest thing isn’t necessarily the on-track stuff, it is the expectations that come with them… It is nice to have those higher expectations and week in and week out put ourselves in the top five conversation,” said Reddick.

Tyler Reddick talks about his game plan for reaching the Championship Four

Reddick is very confident in his car’s pace. He said that they just need to put it together weekend by weekend. According to him, they can either win a race to make a big leap to the front or can finish consistently in the top ten or top five. He said he’d prefer the first way since it would give him more time to prepare for the race at Phoenix.
“We have two ways we can get there. I would like to get there the first way, so we can really focus on Phoenix… to win races, you have to run up front all day, if you do that, you are going to score points, so I think they kind of go hand in hand with one another,” said Reddick.
