The 2024 NASCAR Truck Series season opener ended with a massive wreck at Daytona International Speedway. NASCAR ended the race under caution and Nick Sanchez of Rev Racing No:2 team was announced as the winner with Spire Motorsports’ Rajah Caruth securing P2 ahead of Toyota’s Corey Heim at P3.
The whole race was a wreck fest similar to the 2023 season finale that saw Ben Rhodes winning the championship after surviving the chaos. 51 one of the 101 Scheduled laps of the Truck Event was run under caution, showcasing how brutal the race was, as the racers wrecked each other left and right throughout the event.
The race finish was the most chaotic of all. Rajah Caruth, who was running inside the front pack got lose after a minor contact from Corey Lejoie and proceeded to take the entire field out of the race. Tylor Gray had the most brutal crash of them all as his No:17 Truck flipped upside down following the crash and surfed on top of his rival’s truck before landing on the asphalt while sparks were flying from the side.

Fortunately, despite the heavy crash, no driver was injured as all of them quickly got out of their cars following the incident. All were taken to the infield care center and were released after a medical examination. Most drivers were causeless about what happened or whom to blame for the incident while talking to the media.

The NASCAR fans on X were furious with how the race ended as they didn’t want to see a repetition of how embossing the season ending of the series was last year. They were quick to call out the driver for their careless driving and ruining the race.
There were a lot of negative comments targeted at Caruth, who was the major factor behind the incident. Some of the criticisms that were made were valid, but at the same time, there were also comments from fans who disliked Caruth due to factors including his skin color.
Demote Rajah. He has no business at this level. Took out the field and no remorse. I don’t like Bubba but was glad to see him take Rajah aside and ask him WTF he was doing.

This race was a joke ? this series has turned into NASCAR WreckFest. Drivers racing way too aggressive from lap 1. They don’t give a damn about consequences at all. If they wreck people oh well it’s just how the series is.. ?

71 should be parked. Blatantly turning someone at 180mph got multiple people suspended last year in cup series. This is arguably worse and cost teams millions of dollars in damages
