Three times Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen is one of the highest profile non-American drivers to establish himself as a formidable force in NASCAR. He made his stock debut in Chicago Street Race last season with Trackhouse Racing and went onto win the race. The Kiwi right now is running full-time in the Xfinity Series with Kaulig Racing and also racing part-time in the Cup racing Project 91 Chevy.

Shane van Gisbergen recently went to the Rubbin’ Is Racing podcast hosted by Michael McCarthy a.k.a Large, of Barstool Sports. They had a hilarious conversation about Stewart Haas Racing driver Josh Berry and his infamous relation with foreign racers on the track. The RCR driver is known for his eventful history of crashes with drivers not born on American soil. At COTA, an instance of his antics with Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi was the most recent of the drama.

I screw around, though, about you coming in and trying to take over U.S. sports.  Infiltrating us is the word that I say every week, that I know that you're a New Zealand spy. Has there been any animosity?  Apparently Josh Berry likes to put anybody in the wall who wasn't born in the United States. Has there been any kind of, like a Talladega Nights type thing? You coming over here to run the parrying.

SVG, replying to the warning, admitted that he hasn’t yet had chance have a dual with the Ford driver yet and admitted that he would keep in mind for the possibility of it happening as he still has nearly 10 more scheduled Cup races left in the 2024 season.

Hey, everyone's been pretty cool, but I haven't raced Josh Berry yet. Now you say that, he doesn't like foreigners, he's taking us all out. I'm trying to avoid him.

Shane van Gisbergen reveals plans for his future with Trackhouse racing

The start of the 2024 season has not been as fruitful as Gisbergen would have hoped for. The Kiwi has a solitary podium so far and has been on a rough patch of performance recently. This has raised questions across the field on his future in NASCAR.

I’m sure he’s got something in mind that I need to achieve, but he[Justin Marks] hasn’t let me know yet. I haven’t put too many pressures on me, I guess, for results; that’s why I’m in the Xfinity series this year, to learn for the Cup Series next year. Just all about learning and getting better and doing it a little more under the radar in Xfinity I guess.
Shane van Gisbergen said.

The Trackhouse Racing driver revealed that he has yet to start talks regarding his contract with the 34-year-old. However, he has a firm belief that Marks already has something planned for his future in NASCAR and would be hoping for an extension for his partnership with the Trackhouse racing owner.
