Ty Dillon who sports the No.42 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Petty GMS Motorsports competing full-time in the Cup Series took part in the second exhibitory event this year hosted by NASCAR, the All-Star Open at Texas Motor Speedway, and seemingly appeared satisfied with his performance at the race despite being unable to qualify for the main All-Star Race based on a new format.
He has had a pretty impressive season with five top 15s with his season-best coming at the All-Star Open with a P6 finish and he has just two DNFs to his name which is evident to say that he’s getting better with every race, and he is eagerly looking forward to improving in the coming races and working with his new sponsor Ferris mowers.
“All-Star races are fun, but our mindset now shifts back to points racing,” says Ty Dillon who is optimistic about his form going forward
Ty Dillon was reportedly happy with how he performed at the All-Star Open with a completely new format and all he had to say in the post-race interview is that he was delighted with his reconcilable progress across the stages with their handling and looks to take it forward and added that this can be carried out to the coming races including Charlotte.
“Throughout the three short segments in the Open, we consistently improved the handling of our Ferris Camaro ZL1. That is positive for our No.42 team to take away from this weekend. It gives us something to build on and use to our advantage at future intermediate tracks, including the race at Charlotte,” said Ty Dillon.
He further added by saying that he is thrilled to have joined hands with Ferris for the very first time this year and is looking forward to improving their terms of agreement and concluded by adding that he enjoys racing during the All-Star events but remains adamant about focusing towards the conventional racing for points.
“Having Ferris on board for the first time this season meant a lot to me, continuing a relationship with the company that has supported my career since 2013. All-Star races are fun, but now our mindset shifts back to points racing,” concluded Ty Dillon.
With Ty Dillon standing 26th in the points table, there is evidently a lot of room for improvement, and will we see that in him from Charlotte next week?
