“We don’t necessarily need a win,” Chase Briscoe hopeful of his chances to make progress in the playoff

This weekend’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway will see the NASCAR Cup Series grid take to the track. The second round of the 2022 postseason racing is presented by Barstool Sportsbook. Due to their failure to win last week at Darlington, the 16-man playoff grid is predicted to make a comeback in this race.
Chase Briscoe, has been the most impressive Stewart Hass Racing driver on the grid as the youngster made it into the cup playoff in his second full-time season with the team and was the first one in the SHR line-up to have secured a playoff berth. Now he will be hoping to make a solid race weekend at Kansas following a below-par day at Darlington.
The youngest through as impressive at the first half f the season has been struggling recently as he hasn’t been able to get back to the top 10 in his last 14 races. Though he failed to impress last May at Kansas he will be hoping to make a comeback this weekend at Kansas speedway.
Find out what Chase Briscoe had to say about his Kansas outing

Chase Briscoe acknowledged that his team failed to convert the success he had on the sim to the track as efficiently as they expected. He pointed out that they have been getting some positive results after they went back to what has been working for us in the past.
“I think we were trying things that we thought were going to be better based on sim and what was being shown on paper, and now we know that isn’t the case. We were able to go back to some of what had been working for us and I think that really showed in some of the more recent races we’ve run, like Charlotte,” Chase Briscoe said.
Talking about his upcoming Kansas outing Chase Briscoe acknowledged that the Kansas track compared to the other tracks remained the same for when racing in the Next-Gen cars. He added that they will be running the fence all-day hoping not to make a mistake that might end their day as it did last time around.
“For the most part, Kansas isn’t much different than what it has been compared to some of these tracks that race so differently with the new car. We’ll be running the fence all day and just hoping not to make a mistake that takes us out of it,” Chase Briscoe added.
Talking about his point situation in the playoff as he acknowledged that he is in a better position than he expected to be in and needs to have some solid runs in the coming two races at Kansas and Bristol.
“Thankfully, the points situation is much better than I expected, but we’ve still got to have two solid races. I felt like Darlington was where we’d struggle the most out of these first three tracks. The plan for Kansas and Bristol is to get some stage points and be there at the end,” says Chase Briscoe.
Chase Briscoe pointed out that they don’t necessarily need a win to progress to the next rounds though a win will make it easier. He added that if they are able to have some solid point finishes everything will work out for them.
“We don’t necessarily need a win, even though that would make it a lot easier, we just need to have a really good points day. Wouldn’t be a bad thing for a couple of guys to have problems again, but we just need to do our job and we’ll be OK,” added Chase Briscoe.
