NASCAR has announced a penalty for Joe Gibbs Racing driver Ty Gibbs for his misconduct post-race at Martinsville following the Xfinity Series event. The officials have fined the young Gibbs  $15,000 for a behavioral violation for hitting another competitor’s car on pit road.

But NASCAR is silent about the fistfight that occurred in the pit lane after the on-track altercation in the cooling down lap after Friday night’s Xfinity Series race at Martinsville Speedway. Ty Gibbs was forced out of contention for a win in the Xfinity Series race and the $100,000 Dash 4 Cash bonus by rival  No. 1 JR Motorsports Chevrolet of rival Sam Mayer in the last lap of the race.

A frustrated Ty Gibbs went after Sam Mayer and delivered bumper contact on the cool-down lap which then went on to become a fistfight and the officials were forced to intervene and stop the young drivers.
