Reigning NASCAR champion Kyle Larson tipped to race in 2022 Indy 500

Kyle Larson

Kyle Larson created NASCAR history in 2021 dominating the Cup series with 10 points races win, the All-Star Race, and the Cup title, securing secure his maiden title. Kyle Larson faced an indefinite suspension in 2020 for using a racial slur during a race and was reinstated to the series in January 2021 after he completed a sensitivity program.

Kyle Larson signed a special contract with his team Hendrick Motorsports which allowed him to race in other racing series or championships than NASCAR something which isn’t familiar at Hendriks as the owners usually deny such requests. Kyle Larson dominated multiple dirt race events the same way he dominated the weekend NASCAR cup series races.

Sports Business Journal reports quoting Team Hendriks vice chairman Jeff Gordon says that Team Hendrick is open to letting Kyle Larson race in the Indy series especially in Indianapolis 500 in 2022. They also expressed team Hendrick Motorsports’ objective to potentially enter into racing series other than NASCAR.

22-year-old Justin Haley is heading into his first full-time season in the NASCAR cup series had a disappointing beginning in “Clash at the callosum” as the frustrated reigning champion Kyle Larson redirected him for a hard hit into the inside wall after a clash between the two.

Justin Haley was able to remain in the top 5 until lap 115 where he hit the left rear of Kyle Larson after a push from behind by William Byron. A frustrated Kyle Larson coming out of the turn with Haley on his inside made a hard left and redirected the Kaulig car into the inside wall putting Hailey out of the race.

Justin Haley called out Kyle Larson for disrespect as he was forced to hit him saying “The 24 got into the back of me and shoved me into Kyle, and then Kyle just came down and put me in danger. Not impressed with the move. It’s hard to be a rookie and gain respect. The 18 just passed him cleanly and he didn’t turn down on Kyle (Busch). I don’t know. It’s kind of BS,”
