NASCAR is always packed with action. Drivers are pushing themselves to the limit at incredible speeds. The adrenaline rush can lead to chaos if things go wrong. RCR driver Austin Hill got in trouble in Indianapolis on Saturday after a rant in the Xfinity Series race. Now, team owner and racing icon, Richard Childress has come in support of his driver.

During the Xfinity Series race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Austin Hill was in a close battle with Aric Almirola. After some aggressive moves by the latter, Hill allegedly rear-hooked Almirola. He was handed a five-lap penalty, a big call made by the race officials. The RCR driver was furious over the decision and did not shy away from using some profane language on the team radio.

Oh they can go f**k themselves. F**k NASCAR. That is f***ing bulls**t. I’m f***ing sideways, I go to correct it back to the left, it gets locked to the left, I f***ing run into the 19 [Almirola].

Austin Hill said on team radio.

The No. 21 star is the first driver to be given such a penalty since 2021. Austin Hill can still face further punishment, including the possibility of a suspension. When team owner Richard Childress was asked about the incident, the NASCAR legend made it clear that he would get into trouble if he decided to break his silence.

I’ll be in bigger trouble than I already am with NASCAR, period.

Richard Childress told NBC Sports.

Richard Childress makes big accusation against NASCAR over Austin Hill incident

The 79-year-old did not hold back his anger over the entire situation. While aggressive incidents are not uncommon in NASCAR, the strict action against Austin Hill could be seen as a rare occurrence. So much so, Richard Childress was confident that there might be some bias behind the sport’s decisions.

Childress made it clear that he did not expect Austin Hills to be suspended from the championship. He pointed out that NASCAR did not take any action on Austin Cindric even after the No. 2 driver admitted wrecking Ty Dillon‘s car during the road course race at COTA. Richard Childress claimed that his team was a ‘blue-collar’ outfit, which might be a reason behind potential bias from NASCAR.

Hell no. They didn’t do a damn thing to the 2 car [of Austin Cindric] when they, he wrecked Ty [Dillon] and admitted to it. Drove him in the right rear and wrecked him at COTA. It’s who you are. We’re a blue-collar team, they give us trouble all the time.

Richard Childress added.

It seems that Austin Hill’s incidents will remain the talk of the NASCAR field for the coming days. The RCR driver was unapologetic over the situation and his team owner does have his back. Thus, Hill and Childress are unlikely to back down if NASCAR decides to take any more steps against the No. 21 driver.
