Richard Petty admits 2025 is “almost like starting with a new team” for Legacy MC
NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty has shared his feelings about how the 2025 Cup season is going to playout for Legacy Motor Club.

Though Richard Petty is no longer actively involved in the NASCAR as a team owner, he is still playing a significant part as the minority owner of Legacy Motor Club, alongside Jimmie Johnson and the majority owner Maury Gallagher. The team is going through one of the biggest restructurings they have ever had.
They joined Toyota at the end of the 2023 season and had their first year as TRD client’s last season. It was a year mixed results, and coming into the 2025 season, they are looking to redeem themselves with new hirings. Richard Petty, sharing his views about the upcoming season, admitted that he is looking forward to the sophomore season with Toyota.
He detailed how they have signed new drivers, crew chiefs and engineers to the team, with the hopes of making the team better. They feel like they are starting a whole new team.
