Hall of Famer NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick recently recalled how Jeff Gordon broke the news of his divorce in 2002.

Hendrick Motorsports over the years has been part of one of the best teams over decades and was home of some of the best drivers in the sports history. One of Rick Hendrick best investment over the years has been signing a young Jeff Gordon who went on dominate the sport in its peak, winning four Cup championships and 93 wins.
Jeff Gordon is now vice chairman of HMS and is expected to inherit the lead role of the Chevy giants, once Rick Hendrick retires. In his recent appearance in a Dirty Mo Media podcast with Kelly Earnhardt, he recalled a funny story from 2002, when Gordon divorced his then wife, Brooke Sealey. It was mess situation with media frenzy and $15.3 million settlement.

The Hall of Fame team owner thought his star driver was about reveal him news about leaving the team. Hendrick was beyond relaxed when he learned about the fact it was about the divorce and not Gordon’s racing future.

In the podcast while talking about their relations and success together, Hendrick explained how much he cherishes the partnership. He pointed out that he is proud of how Kelly Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. has carried the legacy of their family.
