Spire Motorsports’ Carson Hocevar can’t catch a break in 2025 and yet again it’s Hyak Motorsports’ Ricky Stenhouse Jr. who is involved in the drama. In the inaugural Mexico City Cup race, the No:77 Chevy driver was getting involved in messy situation from the very start of the race and even caused the final caution of the race.

In the final laps of the race, Carson Hocevar found himself in the back of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. who was on the lead lap racing for P23. The young racer, who was already a lap down, raced aggressively when he shouldn’t have and ended up spinning the veteran out, leading the ex-Daytona 500 winner to finish P27.

This opened the wounds from the Nashville race weekend. Two weeks ago, Stenhouse Jr. promised payback to Hocevar for spinning him out. After some public back and forth, it seemed the duo talked it out, now things are worse than it was. Soon after the race, the No:47 driver went to Hocevar, and confronted him even before the youngster got out of the car, promin sing revenge when they return to USA next week.

I’m gonna beat you’re a**…You’re a lap down, you got nothing to do, why’d you run right into me?… I don’t give a damn…I will beat you’re a** when we get back to the States.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. said (Via Motorsports.com).

The incident has put strain on the already thin relationship between Carson Hocevar and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. This also will affect the good relationship the owners of Spire have with the veteran racer, as they have failed to force their young racer to driver more respectfully, especially in situation where he shouldn’t be starting a duel.

I mean we’ve had no issues before, as he had said, and I feel like we’ve had a decent relationship leading up to this. So, yeah, I thought it was productive and, based off his comments, I felt like it was received productive.

Carson Hocevar said in Michigan about their relationship before Mexico.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. gives his verdict on the latest Carson Hocevar drama

When Junior saw Stenhouse Jr. on the move to Hocevar’s car, he was expecting the veteran to give the youngster a** whooping, fortunately that didn’t happen. He can’t be blamed for thinking like considering the Hyak drivers past, with the 2024 Kyle Busch fight being the latest incident.

I told you all was when I seen Ricky lean down in that window, in that body language. I’m like that man is going to whoop that kid.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.

Ex-crew chief Steve Letarte had the perfect analogy to explain the situation. He pointed out that the threat from the experienced driver seems like mother threatening son about Dad coming home to teach him a lesson.

It’s like getting told your dad’s gonna yell at you when you get home… He knows he has it coming, he doesn’t know when it’s coming.

Steve Letarte said.

Carl Edwards had the same opinion on the situation, and alongside Hocevar, as well as the whole NASCAR community, the prime boot is looking forward to see what’s going to happen. It would be interesting to see how the Stenhouse-Hocevar beef is going to evolve and how it will define their 2025 seasons.
