The 2024 NASCAR Cup season is at a crossroads for the championship contenders as this Sunday will host the final race of the Round of 8 at Martinsville. Every driver other than Joey Logano and Tyler Reddick, are coming in to thee race with desperation, to either win the event or point their way into the championship-4.

While the drivers in the R-8 are actually under a lot of pressure, many have claimed that they are not feeling the pressure. The defending Cup champion Ryan Blaney has called BS on it and has pointed out that all drivers are experiencing one kind of pressure or something, as its their livelihood and something they loves to do.

I feel like if anyone asks you in certain moments that they don’t feel any pressure when it comes time to do this, I think they’re not telling you the whole truth because everyone feels it. This is your livelihood and this is what you love to do.

Ryan Blaney said at Martinsville.

He went onto explain that the drivers who doesn’t have any championship hopes might not be under pressure. But the six drivers in the R-8 who are left to make it into the finale are under some serious pressure.

Guys who aren’t in the playoffs right now and your championship hopes are not there anymore if you’re not in the eight. So, all six of us who aren’t locked in, they’re feeling pressure and that’s with everything.

Ryan Blaney added.

Ryan Blaney lost his sleep over the mistakes from Homestead

The Team Penske Racing driver wouldn’t have been in this pressure if he hadn’t left the door open for Tyler Reddick last week at Homestead. He lost the race in the last corner to the 23XI Racing driver and admitted that he felt sleepless watching the laps lap.

Yeah, I rewatched it. When I got home Sunday night, I rewatched the whole race, and we lost the end of it and lost some sleep over the end of that race… If I just would have done this differently, it would have been a different outcome.

Ryan Blaney said.

The Ford driver is coming into the race with a lot of determination and pressure. He and his team have to be perfect with execution on and off the track on Sunday to win his way in the championship-4. It will be interesting to see how the No:12 driver would perform at Martinsville.
