Spire Motorsports’ Carson Hocevar is one biggest talent in the NASCAR Cup Series who has the speed to become a champion in the future as he matures. But at the moment, he is a rookie who is prone to making mistakes and has bad reputation because of his aggressive racing style that most often produce wrecks or crashes.
Last week at Nashville Carson Hocevar was involved in crash under caution that ruined Harrison Burton’s race. Carson Hocevar received a lot of backlashes from fans and sports analyst. Now the reigning champion Ryan Blaney has shared his opinion on the rookie. He called for severe fines and point deductions to stop it from continuing.
That’s something I’ve seen too many times out of that guy from different series. That’s not cool. Don’t do that... I think everyone made a big deal when Hocevar did that in the Cup race, and then they rightfully penalized him after the race. That’s the only way you’ll get that stuff to stop. You have to make them pay a lot of money, fine them from points, things like that.Ryan Blaney said at Chicago to NBC.
He asserted that if the incident is bad enough NASCAR should step up and suspend them for a race. Ryan Blaney added being involved in such wrecks isn’t something a rookie should be part of in the sport.
If it’s bad enough, make them sit out. You know, that’s just stuff that you learn as a young driver. Don’t do. There are a lot of no-nos, and that’s one of them.Ryan Blaney added.
Ryan Blaney is hoping Carson Hocevar will learn from his mistakes
While further talking about the points, Blaney pointed out that he hopes that the young driver learns from his mistake and be better in the coming races. He asserted that huge fines are always a god way to make young driver learn a lesson.
Something I’ve seen reoccurring with him that hopefully he learns from it, and hopefully when there’s a little bit of hole in his pocket after the money he had to pay, it teaches you a lesson of don’t do that anymore.Ryan Blaney said.
The fans would be also hoping to see Hocevar being less aggressive and more productive on the track. His racing would only progress as he becomes more mature and cleaner racer. If he is able to do that consistently, he can easily get a top Chevy seat worthy of championship.
