The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season has been one of lot of hard hits for Ryan Blaney. He was involved in multiple wrecks, that caused him some minor physical discomfort and caused some major damages to his car. The Penske driver unfortunately suffered some bruises due to crashes, which also ruined his championship-4 chances, and he now finds himself in a must-win situation.

Because of the recurring incident, Ryan Blaney is determined to make NASCAR to change guidelines to ensure the drivers are safe in huge wrecks. He is planning to talk to the sanctioning body in the off-season regarding the same. The No:12 Ford driver believes that he can inspire some changes, like he has previously done following his Daytona crash last season.

I definitely think changes need to be made. It’s something we can talk about during the off-season with NASCAR, and I plan on doing that.

Ryan Blaney told Bob Pockrass.

He also highlighted the impressive changes made by NASCAR to make the cars safer the last two season. Blaney pointed out that the updates have made the cars much safer from the rear impact and rear impacts. Now it’s time to shift the focus to the side impact during the wrecks.

I feel like they’ve done a really good job of, you know, helping the front and the rear impacts. Those are kind of the big things. I’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of feeling a lot of the big front and rear impacts, and they have gotten better. That was kind of my first big hit with a side impact.

Ryan Blaney added.

I’m feeling alright. A couple hard hits. I’ve had more hard hits than I’d like, especially recently in last year and a half or so, two years. But yeah, I’m doing okay. Our team does good job of, you know, doing all we can in the car to try to make sure we’re as safe as we can be. There’s some other tweaks with the cars that we’ve got to continue to work on. But, you know, feeling all right.

Ryan Blaney said.

The season isn’t yet over for Blaney, and he is now in a situation where he has to take some serious risks, that might result in more wrecks. It will be interesting to see how he will perform in the coming races, with the title on the line.
